Retouching |
|
|
|
Written by Michael Greves
|
Q: How does retouching illustrate its potential?
A: We all want to look amazing in pictures. Sometimes, however, circumstances are not
always conducive to what we consider our best look. Think of it as
eliminating cosmetic distractions in pursuit of revealing the essence
of who you are. Digital retouching, when used properly, works hand-in-hand with portrait photography in capturing a genuine aspect of your
personality.

Props and Backgrounds |
|

|
Q: What kind of props and backgrounds do you use?
A: For in-studio sessions, I have a variety of backgrounds to work
with (e.g., black, white, textured, colored). For the location
sessions, props and backgrounds arise from the location itself. This is covered during initial consultations and depends on the context.

Q: Can I see some of the pictures as you're taking them?
A: I can relate to the curiosity of wanting to check what we're
producing during the session. We transfer images captured from the camera to a macbook laptop. This allows us to gauge how you and the production is going. It gives an idea if the shoot is working or do we need to change anything from a lighting, make-up, styling or even model pose aspect. Viewing images
at this initial stage, tell you very little about how they will
eventually turn out. They are "unprocessed",
since I photograph using the Raw file. Keep in mind that the best is yet to come! After the shots go through post-production they will look super-enhanced and even better.

How Long |
|
|
|
Written by Michael Greves
|
|
Q: How long will it take before I will see my shots and choose my favourites , as well as get my prints and CD?
A: Since each customer order is unique in certain ways, wait times will
vary slightly. However, the time between the session and when
your images are presented to you will typically be about 1 week. Depending on the number of
images receiving retouching treatment beyond the basic level, finals should be ready 1 week after you first see them. Cds should be ready 1 week to 10 days after image selection.

Q: What about the PRIVACY of my pictures? Who else will be able to see them?
A: Your privacy is all part of the respect which we feel should help
define our relationship. Chances are, there will be some outstanding images produced in the session which we may want to use to
promote michaelgreves.com.
This would typically take the form of your
photo(s) being posted on this website.
